Dear participants,

Welcome to Prague for the 4th edition of the Model European Union Symposium – the ultimate goal of every MEU enthusiast.

This edition around 40 people interested in the European matters and simulations of EU politics will spend three days in the heart of Europe – Prague discussing their know-how and best practices gained during the MEUs.

This year of the Symposium is special. In 2018, BETA Europe went through significant changes and has become a federal association covering 13 Member States of the EU. The new organisation structure was also reflected in organisation of the Symposium. The 2018 edition of the Symposium is the first edition hosted by BETA Europe in co-operation with one of its national branch – BETA Czech Republic, and we believe this example will be the opening kick off in successful collaboration between BETA Europe and its national branches.

During the Symposium, you will have the possibility to attend various workshops and presentations on the day-to-day preparation and the biggest challenges of the MEU’s conferences. These presentations and workshops will be held by the stars of the MEU universe, who have attended and organised numerous conferences across Europe.

However, the Symposium is not only about presenting what is right or wrong but about sharing our know-how and confronting each other with your personal experience and ideas. Therefore, we strongly encourage every single one of you not to be afraid to express freely your opinions, insights and experience to provoke a fruitful discussion because only from the open debate will benefit all of the participants.

We are glad you have arrived to Prague to exchange your ideas with the MEU community, and we wish you to have enjoyable moments full of discussions, meetings with old and new friends and to enjoy the beauties of the Czech capital, and local beer!
